Task Context: The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) is the professional body tasked with creating an Australian National framework within which nurses and midwives practice. The functions of the Board include: registering nursing and midwifery practitioners and students; implementing nursing Standards for Practice, Codes of Conduct and other guidelines; dealing with complaints, investigations and disciplinary matters; assessing practitioners who received their qualifications overseas and want to work in Australia; and approving accreditation for courses of study (such as the Bachelor of Nursing degree here at Avondale). Through your exploration of the Code of Conduct and other related literature, this assessment will deepen your understanding of your identity as a professional nurse in the Australian context.
Task: [Must complete AIM Certificate first!] Create an academic essay (written in 3rd person) that explores how the NMBA professional standards documents outline the expectations of behaviour required from a student nurse. Refer particularly to Domain 2: Practice safely, effectively and collaboratively – Principle 2.3 (Informed consent) of the Code of Conduct for Nurses (NMBA, 1 March 2018, p. 8),
