TECA 1318 Wellness of Young Child Alternate Field Experience Directions Summary Paper Directions and Rubric Directions for Field Experience Observations: Students are required to document a minimum of 16 hours of initial field experience. If you have NOT completed all 16 hours, you will need to complete the observations from the video list below. Use the Summary Paper Directions (III), below, and the grading rubric to guide your work. 16 hours of in-person observations completed: If you can complete all 16 hours in person, you should. You must have the documented Field Experience Log to accompany your paper with signatures from teachers or administration documenting 16 hours. No paper will be graded without this log. Follow the directions for completing the field experience hours, found in this document, below. Video observations for Field Experience If you are unable to complete your field experience hours in-person, you must complete at least 10 hours of video watching/observation using videos chosen only from the list below. Follow the same set of directions for completing the field experience hours, found in this document. You must complete the Field Experience Log with the video titles and dates watched, along with your signature. Submit this with your summary paper. No paper will be graded without this log. You do not need to report on each individual video, if you are using video observations. The paper MUST include all elements 1. A clear description of the setting (materials and equipment, location, number of children and adults, adequate space? Indoors and/or outdoors?) (CHOOSE ONE VIDEO TO FOCUS ON FOR THIS QUESTION, IF USING VIDEOS FOR OBSERVATIONS) 2. Several descriptions (at least 4-6) of children’s activities, interactions with each other and adults. 3. Several descriptions (at least 4-6) of observations of teachers’ activities and interactions with each other and children. 4.
