The automated infrastucture organizes operational data related to the business of the company. Administrative decisions are supported by the management enabling mechanisms. They have an information service that provides information to managers. A decision enhancement mechanism that uses a model to help answer the “what if” question. A knowledge-based system informing the manager just as personal advisors would do. The leadership system is designed to meet the needs of leaders. (Digicel Hamper Distribution, 2016) People use commercial software applications to perform a variety of activities, but the responsibility for managing an organization’s information needs lies with the users and hardware that support their decisions. Software and other management information systems. Information mechanism manage important company info, providing data for managers to analyze, manage, then make decisions. (Community Digicel Foundation | Digicel Group, 2016) Digiciel used a computerized information system to automate the manufacturing process and order and manage inventory. It was used to process consumer orders and manage billing and supplier payments. The information system records and tracks transactions and sends the data to the appropriate departments. (About Who We Are: An Extraordinary Company | Digicel Group, 2016) The company used several information handling infrastructure, starting with a mechanism to handle billing. A supervision system implies infrastructure enabling users to mine info, make guesses, spot business changes, then enumerate corporate policies. Automation solutions drive the flow of info throughout the company. Each type of information infrastructure supports some levels of decisions, such as operations, tactics, and strategy. Digiciel has acquired a system to reduce headcount, thereby reducing ongoing costs and improving profits. Artificial intelligence has replaced humans and is more efficient. Transaction processing systems were used to speed up billing and purchases. The expert system assisted you in making quick and accurate decisions. (What We Do – TV & Broadband At Home | Digicel Group, 2016) 5.0 Applied Strategy 5.0.1 Transaction Processing System Transaction Processing System keeps all legal, commercial, and consumer experience information secure and available to anyone who needs it. It also helps with the day-to-day tasks needed to keep things running smoothly, such as order fulfillment, billing, distribution, and customer acquisition. An enterprise’s integrated infrastructure operates with a TPS. TPS gets information then prepares the information that is kept in store similar to a minicomputer storage though larger. In reality, all of your company’s important info is stored in one large system, which is its primary source of ideas. As mentioned before, the storage infrastructure monitors the info and allows users decide the type of ideas they need for their own personal or business use. There are several ways to update the store. Processing in large quantity, where info is obtained over a period and handled simultaneously, and on net or immediate handling, where info is handled when it is there. Processing in large quantity optimizes technology use and suits applications such as payroll that need regular processing rather than continual processing. Company info is updated through online handling mechanisms. 5.0.2 Support Systems for Managers Bookkeeping, order handling, and money and cheque management includes the activities that facilitate accounting information infrastructure. They reduce bureaucratic effort and provide immediate access to basic operational data. The main internal database is used by the management system to execute demanding analysis and aids administrators sharpen their decision skills. Info storage and other computing infrastructure are elements of modern MSS. Data warehousing brings together multiple databases across your organization into one master storage to facilitate strategic making of company decisions. Office handlers can use a info store to quickly get and share info throughout the company so they can see the big picture, not just the isolated data. The info store uses software to extract info from the production store and store it in the store for others to use. This ensured efficient management of the company and increased production. 5.0.3 Decision enabling System Uses an immersive model to help managers make decisions about actual operations. It also retrieves data from its internal database, but looks for specific data related to the problem at hand. This is a tool for management to determine what would happen if they made certain adjustments. The manager can create a table and experiment with adjusting some values in a simple scenario. For example, if the number of workers increases or decreases, the manager can create a table showing the number of overtime hours required. With the model, the administrator enters values into the computer that imply specific facts, and the software calculates the results. An executive in the marketing department of a furniture company. This has accelerated the decision-making process and made it more efficient. 5.0.4 Management Information System (EIS) Adjusted to the needs of individual managers. The platform provides detailed info enabling very important and trustworthy process of engagement within the set up. For instance, the head of the company`s EIS may insert major worksheets that include accounting records that evaluate the company against major rivals, in addition to graphing to elaborate present and future expectations. This revolutionized management and led to higher enterprise throughput. 5.0.5 Expert System Heads of operations may seek redress from an expert mechanisms comparable to Personal Advisor system. Artificial intelligence allows computers to think using what-if reasoning and understand how to deal with problems in the same way as humans. Expert systems are expensive and complex to develop, but are being deployed by more and more enterprises as additional applications are discovered. Mobile devices can serve even lower expert systems. Recruiting sufficient personnel in handling the current judgmental duties can be very costly. Expert mechanisms have been also adopted in assisting oil exploration, staff shift scheduling, and disease diagnosis. Some expert systems have tried to fill the gap. 6.0 Scenario Before In the early days of Digicel, everything in the organization was done manually and the throughput was low. The effort required to handle the manual process was also high, resulting in higher operating costs and lower profits for the company. Accounting departments used a lot of paper for manual transactions, and accountants had to do everything from ledger adjustments to billing and payment processing manually, creating monotony. Due to the high running costs and low profits, employee motivation was not taken into consideration, leading to employee resistance. The decision-making process was very intensive and required several meetings to make one simple important decision. Employees had to commute just to attend a series of meetings, which was very costly in terms of transportation and time. The company’s throughput was low because the company’s profits declined due to the high wages of its employees. 7.0 Current scenario With recent invent of information enhancement infrastructures, various processes within organization have been automated and work throughput has been greatly improved. Today’s transactions are executed by error-free and efficient transaction processing systems. Accountants can now perform small tasks that only manage the system, rather than handling it manually. Transaction processing systems keep all legal, commercial, and consumer experience information secure and available to anyone who needs it at any time. It also helped us carry out sales orders, billing, sales, research, and other day-to-day operations needed to keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently. The Manager Support System reduces bureaucratic costs and provides immediate access to critical operational data. The data warehouse has integrated multiple company inclusive stores into one large store to support strategic process of making of decisions. Administrators can use data stores to quickly find and transmit info within the setup, giving them full case scenario not inadequate data. The decision improvement system is retrieving info from an local storage looking for specific info related colluding the present situation. This helped management determine what would happen if they made certain adjustments. The manager can create a table and experiment with adjusting some values in a simple scenario. Artificial intelligence allows computers to think with what-if reasoning and learn how to deal with problems in the same way as humans. Expert systems are expensive and complex to develop, but are being deployed by more and more enterprises as additional applications are discovered. Mobile devices can serve even lower expert systems. The invention of cloud conferencing has also increased efficiency within the organization by allowing employees to meet and work in different homes without having to physically go to work. The company’s throughput has doubled, profits have increased, and employee motivation has increased. All this was achieved by eliminating the manual system and replacing it with an automated system . 8.0 System Impact The deployed information system has had a significant impact on the day-to-day operations and operations of the organization, as all manual processes are automated. The bureaucratic principles associated with manual transaction processing have been resolved by a transaction processing system that guarantees smooth, fast transactions. Administrator support and management information systems have improved management styles, which has led to efficient and robust management that maximizes the company’s throughput . Artificial intelligence has solved the labor-intensive nature of the company because it can perform tasks on multiple machines, but now it can be performed on one or two robots. This reduced the cost of running the business and increased profits. The invention of cloud conferencing and communication support systems has streamlined and accelerated the flow of information within the company. High transportation and travel costs have also been eliminated. 9.0 Conclusion Transaction improvement system, management promotion system, and automation infrastructure make up the information management infrastructure technology. The billing improvement mechanism retrieves then rearranges operational info related to the operation of the setup. Administrative decisions are supported by the management enhancement tools. They have an info service which provides information to managers on basis of info retrieved from the TPS . A decision mechanism using a model in aiding answer the “what if” question. A knowledge-based infrastructure which enumerates heads with info similar to input from personal advisors. Executive info handling mechanisms are designed to meet the wants of the executives. Information handling infrastructures have revolutionized the way businesses operate by improving throughput and efficiency. 10.0 Glossary Expert System A leadership support system that provides administrators with the same guidance they receive from humans.
