Consider the two moral theories that we have studied last week and this week, as well as the Batman case, the Trolley Case, and the Surgeon Case.
Which ethical theory do you think is better, Deontology (Kantian Ethics) or Utilitarianism? Why do you think that moral theory is better, and why do you think the other one is worse?
Next, consider the Batman Case, the Trolley Case, and the Surgeon Case. Do you think that your preferred theory gives the right answer in each of these cases? If so, explain why you believe the theory gives the right answer in each case. If you think the theory does not give the right answer in one or more cases, explain why you believe it gives the wrong answer. Finally, if you think the theory sometimes gives the wrong answer, does this cause you to doubt whether the theory is a correct guide to right and wrong?
